Sanitary Mezzanine

Custom Designed Sanitary Mezzanine

A.E.G.'s team of skilled designers, fabrications and installation team provided our customer with this one-of-a-kind sanitary mezzanine in just 43 days. Our design team and fabrication team worked hard to develop a full 3d design and provide a quality product within our customer's short deadline. This mezzanine was specially designed to meet our customer's strict food safety requirements using many unique techniques to provide them with the highest quality and most sanitary mezzanine possible. A.E.G. also designed and manufactured all pictured conveyors.

The mezzanines square tube frame of our mezzanine is constructed to eliminate flat surfaces ensuring all liquid is shed. Each tube is specialty cut and welded on 45° angles, this process drastically increases washability and allows the underside to be thoroughly cleaned. The process of fabricating each tube on a 45° angle over doubles the amount of cutting and welding required. It also imposes impossible weldments which our team overcame by the addition of flat bar standoffs. This both improves the weldability of each joint and increases the space between the mezzanine deck and frame allowing operators to see and wash the frame easily. Each weld was later ground smooth furthering the sanitary levels of this mezzanine.

By the customer's request, A.E.G. designed the mezzanine on a 1-2° slope towards a center drain. This allowed operators to wash the entire mezzanine from top to bottom without worry of water buildup or unwanted spillage. With the extremely tight floor-to-ceiling clearance, A.E.G. had to design the mezzanine with height adjustability to allow the scale turrets of the fillers to be installed. Our team worked hand in hand with our customers other OEM's and provided a well-thought-out installation plan. Our team of designers constructed and populated a 3d model of the entire project including provided drawings by other OEM's and there machines. This allowed our team to immediately see the issues with installation and design a multi-stage installation plan that provided all OEM's with a smooth, safe install plan. Our team installed the mezzanine in a piece-by-piece construction, this along with the cooperation of the VFFS machines installation team allowed the machine to be installed in-between sections with just 1" of clearance.
